A day in the IP management life ...

Melaine Kenyon,MLS
Director of Instructional Technology
Buffalo State College


Melaine Kenyon serves as Director of Instructional Technology for Buffalo State College, the largest comprehensive college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

 She holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and a master of library science degree from the University at Buffalo. As IT director, Kenyon provides overall leadership in operations and coordinates the activities of all units in the Instructional Resources Department: classroom technology support, instructional design, the college's learning management system, video production, photography, graphic design, and television engineering services.
 She provides strategic leadership for the development and integration of instructional technology into classrooms and other learning spaces, and she is directly involved in the planning and design of classroom media technologies for academic environments under renovation. She also serves as the primary contact for instructional technology media purchases and consultation. 
 Kenyon serves as the college's copyright consultant and is currently a member of the SUNY-wide Intellectual Property Task Group, charged with leading the effort to educate faculty, staff, and students about copyright. She also chairs a campus task force for Buffalo State's copyright work group.
Kenyon completed the professional certification program in Copyright Management and Leadership Level I: Foundations and Level II: Advanced Topics from the Center for Intellectual Property at the University of Maryland University College.
 
Marc Dewey Bayer, MLS

Scholarly Communication Librarian
Buffalo State College's Interlibrary Loan

Marc Bayer is currently the Scholarly Communication Librarian at the E. H. Butler Library, managing Buffalo State College's Interlibrary Loan department and institutional repository. 
 Marc has also served as Systems Librarian at both D'Youville College and Buffalo State College from 2005 to 2011 and continues to enjoy working with database-driven applications. 
 His previous experiences in the private sector included account and project management roles in marketing and IT, multimedia, and print publishing industries in both Buffalo, N.Y. and New York City.
 He holds a BA in English from Fordham University and an MA and MLS from the University at Buffalo.
