2-Part workshop takes place Wednesdays, October 2 and 9, 2013 at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30pm Central/12:30pm Mountain/11:30am Pacific
Topics include:
- Making use of strategic planning and project management methods to set up (or fix up) your library’s social media presence
- Defining success for your social media presence and demonstrate that it’s having the effect you desire
- Taking practical steps to successfully start a new social media account or to integrate a new account into your existing social media presence
- Using time-saving tools and techniques to spread your library’s messages across a variety of social media sites
- Identifying the best practices employed by other libraries in their social media management.
Instructor(s)
Sarah Steiner is the Social Work and Virtual Services Librarian
at Georgia State University Library in Atlanta. For the past six years,
she has been a leader in the library’s social media outreach,
coordinating assessing, and regularly staffing the library’s chat and
text-message reference service. She is cofounder of the Carterette
Series Webinars, which highlight trends, innovation, and best practices
in Georgia libraries. As a 2011 Library JournalMover & Shaker,
Steiner was recognized for creating networking and professional

Cliff Landis is the Web Services Librarian at Georgia State
University. He is also a researcher, author and speaker on the role of
emerging technologies in libraries, social network sites, user-centered
service, assessment, and the co-evolution of humanity and technology. He
has a diverse range of interests both within and outside of the library
field, which help inform his unique perspective on the future of
libraries.

Registration is $75 for individuals and $150 for groups.
