#yolo #tbt #whatdoesthisevenmean? Hashtags might of started with Twitter, but now they are all over social media including Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and more. You’ll see a word or a string of word strung together with a pound sign (#). Originally just intended for classification, hashtags have taken on a life of their own, but can sometimes be hard to decipher. Join us as we explore the origins of hashtags, how people are using them today, and how to decode some of these mysterious hashtag phrases. We’ll also discuss best practices using them in a library setting.
