GPO is hosting a 1-day pre-conference, New Depository Librarian’s Institute, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST. The Institute is one day before the Federal Depository Library Council Meeting and Depository Library Conference. We hope Institute attendees can also attend the Depository Library Council Meeting and Federal Depository Library Conference, April 30 – May 2, 2014. Instructional sessions will also be available virtually.
The Institute is recommended for new depository staff unfamiliar with FDLP operations and GPO requirements for depository libraries. It will address topics such as tangible and electronic collections, item selection for FDLP libraries, box processing, working with item selection profile(s), public access requirements, and the role of regional depository libraries. Onsite attendees will meet GPO staff and can consult with staff on their item selection profiles.
If you have questions please contact FDLP Outreach.
Directions to GPO headquarters, information about getting into the building, information about nearby hotels, dining options around GPO, transportation in DC, and more can be found on the DLC meeting page.
