MONTHLY: Spanish for the Library (UW-Madison SLIS-CES)

Begins on the first business day of each month.
Fee: $60
CEUs: 1.2

Students will be emailed login information a few days before the course begins.  Students must register at least two business days before the course's start date in order to enroll for that month.

This online, self-paced tutorial is designed to help library staff interact effectively with their Spanish-speaking patrons. It focuses on learning Spanish pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary specific to libraries. There are phonetic pronunciations and audio files for all words and phrases. The tutorial also includes information about Spanish-speaking cultures and resources for library outreach, as well as videos. By completing five lessons in the tutorial and practicing pronunciation, students will develop the confidence and skills to make Spanish speakers feel welcome in the library.
