The purpose of this workshop is to give participants experience with reading, writing and producing library marketing and operational documents typically generated by libraries and library-related agencies. So many libraries are faced with financial problems that they are assuming much more of a burden for producing their own materials. Libraries are also internally changing operations as they juggle people and resources to provide optimum service. Communications is key in this effort. Understanding how the various channels of communications work, and giving practice in them, is a key take-away from the course.
