The use of census data and GIS is becoming more prevalent in academics, government, and private sectors. As a consequence, library services are evolving to respond to these needs. Join us to explore census data resources and gain understanding of census geographies and their standardized codes. We will demonstrate the steps to downloading data from American FactFinder, TIGER boundary files, and how to transform these data into color-coded maps. Additionally, presenters will share lessons learned from their hands-on workshop for Texas A&M University constituents for libraries wanting to develop their own Census and GIS workshop.
