An expansion of the Introduction to the Semantic Web course. In this
course we will build on the foundation of the Intro course and focus in
more detail on SKOS, OWL, MADs/METS/MODS, and the Open Linked Data
movement. We will also discuss strategies for creating
taxonomies and ontologies and hands-on ontology creation with Open Source
tools, such as Protégé.
This course can be taken as one of six courses needed to earn our Certificate in XML and RDF-Based Systems, and may assume a certain level of background knowledge covered in other courses in the sequence.
